Description - Spend the night at Lake Tahoe in your own private log cabin. Escape to the real world of solitude. Enjoy a cool, crisp Sierra morning sipping coffee on the deck surrounded by fragrant pines. These remote private log cabins are beautiful Scandinavian style hand hewn log cabins and are accessible by foot or bike only. They are located well out of sight from the main trails in the spectacular Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park. Two cabins area available in the back country which is home to the Famous Flume Trail. These are backcountry cabins so there is no running water or electricity. We provide two gallons of drinking water per day. We are sorry but due to wildlife, health, and allergy considerations, pets are not allowed.

Spooner Lake Cabin - The Spooner Lake Cabin is approximately three quarters of a mile from the Spooner Lake parking lot on a knoll above the north side of Spooner Lake. This cabin is a little larger and is easier to access especially if you have children or if this would be your first time. This cabin is able to sleep up to four adults and two children. Wild Cat Cabin - The Wild Cat Cabin is approximately two and half miles from the Spooner Lake parking lot on a rocky knoll with a stunning view of Emerald Bay across Lake Tahoe. This cabin is a bit farther and takes most people 40 - 60 minutes to walk there. This cabin is able to sleep two comfortably and four snugly. (Rates are for two adults. Please scroll down to the Rate section of this page for calculating appropriate rates for your party.)

What is Provided
Your night at the cabin includes the following:
Queen sized bed and fold out double futon, quilts, and pillows.
Moderately equipped kitchen with 2-burner propane cooking stove.
Plastic eating utensils.
Paper plates, bowls and cups.
Drinking Water (two gallons per day).
Good coffee, tea & hot cocoa.
Wood heating stove and firewood.
Photovoltaic lights, oil lamps, propane lights, and battery powered lantern.
Each cabin equipped with an odor free composting toilet and toilet paper.

Things You Should Bring:

Summer Cabin guests need to provide their own sheets or sleeping bag liners to sleep in (pillowcases are provided).

Food for main meals and daytime activities. (Water intensive foods like pasta are a bad idea. Also avoid foods that require extensive refrigeration in the summertime.)

Camera.

A headlamp with fresh batteries. These help to navigate to the bathroom at night and are great for reading in bed.

Bring clothing appropriate to the expected weather but be weary of unexpected Sierra Nevada weather. It can change rapidly.

If you are planning to lots of extensive outdoor physical activity during the summer, bring a water filter to augment your water supply. There is a stream about a 1/4 mile from the Wildcat Cabin and Marlette Lake is a good one to filter from while visiting the high county.

Washcloth and hand or pack towel.

Useful Information:

There is no shower at either cabin. Water is very heavy to carry in and gray water is hard to dispose of. Spit baths work well for a night or two. Bring a wash cloth and a hand or pack towel. Bringing a few baby wipes in a Ziploc helps keep you from getting to funky. There are wash basins at the cabins. Grocery stores are located in Incline Village, 11 miles away or Round Hill, 9 miles away.

Booking Information:
Dirt Season: full payment reserves a night.
Pre and post snow season: dirt season payment reserves a night.
Children 17 and under are free. If you are bringing children please indicate how many in the notes area of the reservation form.
*If ski area is open, trail pass charges will apply.
Ski season: $100 deposit per night reserves a night. Balance due December 1, 2008
We will charge the card unless we get a check in the mail.

Cancellation Policy:
Late cancellations affect us significantly and leave us little time to fill the cabin.

• Deposit less $40.00 refunded more than 30 days out..
• Within 30days NO REFUNDS. You may send someone in your place. We will issue credit minus $50.00 if we can fill the cabin.
• Please Note: Refunds may be held until your cancelled dates are reserved by someone else.
• We are sorry but due to wildlife, health, and allergy considerations, pets are not allowed.

Dirt Season Rates 2009 (4/01/09 - 11/01/09)
All rates are for two adults. Children 17 & under stay for free.
$95.00 per night Sunday - Thursday, $69 for the second night.
$188.00 Friday and Saturday night stay (Both Nights Mandatory June 1 - October 31).
$129.00 Single Friday nights (April, May and November).
$129.00 Single Saturday nights (April, May and November).
$275.00 July 3, 4 & 5 must be booked together at the time of reservation.
$275.00 September 4, 5 & 6 must be booked together at the time of reservation.
$15.00 per additional adult per night.

Ski Season Rates - Winter 2008/2009 (12/1/08 - 3/31/09)

Trail passes for each cabin guest for each day, rental skis or snow shoes for two and lessons.
Linens (sheets and pillow cases) are also provided in the winter.

Shoulder Season Rates: (11/1/08 - 12/1/08)
The deposit is $100 per night.
If we are open for skiing then the regular season rates apply and you can pay the difference when you arrive.
If we are not open then that is the rate per night.
People staying during the shoulder season need to bring their own sheets and expect unexpected weather.

Snow Season Rates: (12/1/08 - 3/31/09)
$160.00 for two adults, Sunday through Thursday nights, $129 for the second night.
$319.00 for a Friday and Saturday night, (Both Nights Mandatory).
$200.00 for a single Christmas Holiday Night, Sunday - Thursday only (12/24-1/4)
$350.00 for two Christmas Holiday Nights (12/24-1/4)
$500.00 for three Christmas Holiday Nights (12/24-1/4)
$448.00 for President's Day Weekend (2/13-2/15) all three nights mandatory.
$30.00 per additional adult, ski rentals and trail passes are included.
$50.00 per additional adult for a two night stay, ski rentals and trail passes are included.

Winter rates include all of the above plus:
Trail passes for each cabin guest for each day, rental skis or snow shoes and lessons.
Linens (sheets and pillow cases) are also provided in the winter.
The $319 weekend rate includes:
$114 of trail passes.
$98 of ski rentals.
$50 of ski lessons.
Your weekend cabin essentially costs $57!!
*Sorry NO discounts for brining your own skis or not taking a lesson.
